Andrea Worked Time-starved For Two Decades

Even though she was only exposed to one executive assistant in her career, she knew she should have one. With EA, Andrea learned about the talent market and how that fit with her hiring goals.

Executive Backstory:

Andrea’s story includes a successful Real Estate career with over 23 years (and counting) with a prestigious firm. During the first two decades, Andrea was required to play both executive and assistant roles on a daily basis. She heard about success, and failure, stories when partnering with an assistant but never had a direct line to one. Her first experience was shortly after the newly appointed CEO hired his first EA (through Exceptional Admins at the recommendation of YPO peers). Her access to the new assistant was only a small percentage, yet, that small percentage shed light on what was possible if she had someone solely dedicated to her. Still unable to proceed with a full-time hire, she knew one day she was going to re-engage Hilani to help her find her own assistant-partnership.

First Touch Point:

Andrea’s first touchpoint with Hilani was during the CEO-Assistant search. She remembered the unique vetting strategy and wealth of information that flowed through each touch point. Connecting years later, she was intrigued to hear the process evolved even more and held a deep library of information. Over a call with Hilani, she expressed all her pain points and hefty business goals to then ask, “What’s the market like today and what are my chances in finding the right person?”

The Decision:

Hilani was able to speak directly to the market which helped position the right job invitation in a competitive market. Hilani was able to advise on best practices to stand out, attracting the right talent. Andrea signed, the gift of an assistant was on the horizon.

The Results:

Two weeks later, the search kicked off. The search spanned over 4 weeks with three candidates being presented. Andrea found time in her limited schedule to review candidate materials and collaborate with Hilani on effective ways to approach the interviewing process with a lot of intentionality. The collaboration offered Andrea an enjoyable experience. In the end, Andrea offered the role to a strong professional who was eager to start her career at such a firm alongside a dynamic and accomplished female leader.
